Research- Cosmopolitan Magazine

Cosmopolitan Magazine has a large cover photo of Hailee Steinfield in an attempt to provide a preview of her feature article inside the magazine. The cover layout is generally the same in many beauty/lifestyle related magazine. They all have a large cover photo with someone of importance and small blurbs and quotes about articles that could catch the readers attention. The title text is very large and placed at the top of the magazine cover. The letters are a red color which match the cover models outfit perfectly. The small article previews on the side are in a black color with a small inclusion of blue text that also match the cover models outfit. Some words are made larger emphasizes them and making the article more appealing to a potential reader. There was a large amount of advertisements before the table of contents and after. The table of contents had titles describing in what order stories were featured. There was a "Cover Stories" title, and an "Inside" title. It also had the month of the issue at the top of the table of contents in large letters. The color of the text varied from black and white to match the background photo. The background photo featured model Ebonee Davis and had an article title placed next to it. The photo is meant to entice and make the reader want to keep looking through the magazine. In the section of the feature articles there is very little ads but the ad amount later increases once you go past the feature section. The magazine also includes a social media outlet(snapchat) on its cover and table of contents. This allows for its readers to connect more with the magazine and have a more interactive experience. Cosmopolitan Magazine has won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage.
